Hey, Goshen Gators! Are you ready to talk about some awesome books? On this site we will share what we like about some of the best (and maybe worst) books for kids. Tell us what you think about the Battle of the Books Books, the Bluegrass Award Nominees, or just tell us about your favorites!

I have read some of the fifth grade titles and some of the transition titles.
I am really excited to see the White Giraffe. The author conveys a tale that is magical and mystical while staying grounded in reality. The book help me to begin understanding issues (particularly poaching on the continent of Africa) that I would otherwise not be exposed to. Furthermore, the author does this in a way that compells the reader to keep reading.
I am also pleased to see Mercy Watson. My kids and I discovered Mercy this summer; we love her antics and the way DiCamillo continues to point to the importance of family in the context of home and community. Readers of all abilities will enjoy the colorful characters and especially the "porcine wonder," Mercy.

Can you give me information on how "Battle of the Books" works.
